The rock miami story
The Rock Miami Church is a non-denominational, Bible-based Christian congregation that first opened its doors in the fall of the year 2000.
Because Miami is a multicultural city, with the many different languages spoken here, The Rock Miami Church was born to meet the spiritual needs of English-speaking individuals while at the same time sharing its main campus with its parent church, a Spanish-speaking congregation.
The Rock Miami Church’s worship service takes place every Sunday at 11:30 AM. Its contemporary music and inspiring God-centered messages make The Rock Miami Church attended and enjoyed by people of all ages, singles as well as families.

In addition to the Sunday service, there are a number of other activities and groups that people can participate in. To share with people the good news of Jesus Christ, encouraging others to believe in Him and to become followers of Christ. As we do this, individuals and families will create a church that is committed, loving, and fruitful.
Meet Our Pastors
SERGIO ECHEZÁBAL
Sergio received Christ as his Savior in 1974 and was a member of the “Iglesia Cristiana de Miami” for eleven years. In 1985, the ICM joined The Rock Miami Church, where he continues to serve. He was ordained as a pastor in 2018. His academic training includes theological studies at the Florida Bible College and technical studies in electronics, radio, and communications in Miami. He is currently working as an Electronic Technician for a telecommunications company.
He was born in Miami, Florida, in 1959. He has been married since 1991 to Vickie Guerrero, and they are the parents of 2 children. Additionally, they are the grandparents of 2 grandchildren.
ALDO MIRANDA
Aldo has been a member of the church since 1987 and was ordained as a pastor in 2018. He served as a missionary in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic. In 1987, he led the missionary effort until the church was founded in 1999. The church continues to operate today as Iglesia La Roca San Pedro de Macoris.
He is an industrial engineer who graduated in the United States and currently works for a workers’ compensation insurance company.
He was born in Lima, Peru, in 1959 and was raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He has been married since 1990 to Lourdes Fernández, and they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
FREDDY PÉREZ
Freddy is the founder and lead pastor of The Rock Miami Church, which originated in 1973 as a missionary effort of Southwest Community Church to cater to the expanding Spanish-speaking population in Miami-Dade County.
His theological preparation began with Biblical Studies at Florida Bible College. Since then, Freddy has dedicated several years of service to The Rock Miami Church, bringing his passion for ministry to the community and the church.
Born in Havana, Cuba, in 1949, Freddy married Aurora Guerrero in 1972. Together, they have 2 daughters and 8 grandchildren.
GERARDO VAN DALEN
Gerardo “Jerry” has been a member of the church since 1980 and was ordained as a pastor in 1995. His training includes a Doctorate from the Center for Theological Studies of Florida, an MBA from the Nova-Southeastern University of Ft. Lauderdale, an BA in Biology from the University of St. Thomas in Miami, and an AS in Medical Technology from the Miami-Dade College Medical Center.
He was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 1958 and has resided in the United States since 1978. Married since 1991 to María Elena Álvarez, he is the father of 6 children: Jerry Jr., Samuel, Sasha, Marcos, Daniela and Diana. Additionally, he is the grandfather of 2 children.

We are members of the Southeast Church Alliance (S.E.C.A.), a community of independent churches in that region of the country.
This alliance inspires, equips, and organizes efforts to fulfill the Great Commission throughout the region and beyond. The collective desire of the churches is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and for the churches to model New Testament Christianity.
