PRAYER FOR THE NATION

Introduction

In the upcoming presidential elections on November 5, whoever wins will face a severely deteriorated situation regarding spiritual, socio-economic, and moral aspects in our country. The Bible is clear about the most important thing we must do: pray. “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

At this moment, our nation finds itself in an extremely divided electoral season, and our human tendency is to build walls between us based on the candidates we support. This can lead to personal antipathies even among Christians, and also to having anger and hatred against those who lead us; this inevitably leads to deep social division.

What happens in the United States will have a domino effect throughout the world, including Israel. Let’s pray that God’s will be done in our nation and that civility and peace reign in our process. We are blessed to live in a nation where we enjoy abundant freedom, but we must recognize that our system is under attack and in decline. Join millions of Christians who are UNITED in praying that God keeps His hand over our country and all its processes.
